Meet Dr. Small Layne!
Dr. Alyssa Small Layne is a double board-certified OBGYN, fellowship-trained endometriosis excision and fibroid surgeon, and femtech founder. She believes that problem free periods and empowered fertility journeys should be the norm. She understands her patients because she’s walked the same path—through fibroids, infertility, and pregnancy loss. Her own experiences have fueled her mission: to ensure women feel heard, supported, and never alone in their health journeys.
She began her medical training at Meharry Medical College, completed OBGYN residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and pursued dual fellowships in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Advanced Endometriosis Excision. Today, she serves as Director of MIGS and Associate Professor at Howard University, mentoring the next generation of compassionate physicians. Her journey through infertility and surrogacy also inspired the launch of JUNIE, a femtech company simplifying the surrogacy process through its app, BloomBridge. By blending medical insight with personal understanding, she’s making surrogacy simple, supported and successful. Dr. Small Layne is driven by one core belief: Real healing begins when women are believed.
